Cornish Makers Gift Guide
We are lucky to live in such a creative place, surrounded by so many excellent craftspeople. We've put together this little Cornish makers gift guide that features but a few of our favourites. There are so many more we could include! Let us know if you want a gift guide 2.0.
Green and Blue
We're big fans of these guys. Based up the coast from us, they are a B Corp, entirely British made and these clever Bee Bricks are made with 75% waste material from Cornish clay mines. Their products are brilliantly designed to give wildlife a helping hand. A great gift for garden and nature lovers.Black Box Cake
Know someone as mad about cake as we are? Imagine the joy of luxury cake through your letterbox! Beats a Christmas card hands down. Beautifully packaged, expertly baked by Peboryn who are famous for making the most amazing wedding and celebration cakes. If your cake lover is more of a baker, they host masterclasses too!
Super Tube - Surf Wax and Art
The Planted House
Canteen Cook Book
Davy J Swimsuits
Looking for a beautifully made, sustainable and stylish swimsuit for that crazy friend who swims in the sea all year round? We found this excellent local brand when they visited the workshop to choose rings!
Poppy Treffry
Poppy and her team make a whole range of different products inspired by Poppy's sketchbooks of Cornwall. There's all sorts from quirky tea towels to beautiful big bags and bespoke pictures. We particularly like her latest range inspired by our local hedgerows.
Tinkture
Tinkture make delicious rose gin just down the road. We love their product, their clever packaging and their ethos. Oh, and they are lovely people too! Their Cocktail Baubles make for particularly excellent Christmas presents.
Peter Swanson Pottery at No. 56
The Cornish Seaweed Bath Co.
Sarah Woods
We love Sarah's graphic contemporary twist on classic Cornish seascapes. Her etchings are our favourites, but she does beautiful minimalist paintings too. She is based in Porthmeor studios in Newlyn, just up the road from our old workshop.
Cornish Blooms
Shadowed Earth
Beautiful vessels handmade from local naturally coppiced or felled wood. Each piece is made to complement the wood Nick starts from. Some are blackened with fire, others not. Taiman is a particular fan and loves her elm bowl.
Justin Duance
We couldn't make a gift guide of Cornish makers without including ourselves, could we? ;) Our sandcast drop pendants are one of our favourite gifts to our own loved ones (all of Issy's best friends have one!). They make for a lovely sentimental present without having to worry about getting the right size. And we often have one or two in stock for last minute orders.
