Birch

Birch is named for the Old English word ‘birce’, meaning ‘to shine’, in reference to its silvery white bark. In Celtic traditions birch symbolised growth, renewal and adaptability due to its ability to survive in the harshest conditions. It has a bright, rippling grain. As a fairly pale wood, it is best suited to pendants, studs and cufflinks because these get less wear than rings.
