Diamond Encrusted 22ct Gold Sandcast Ring with Organic Crystalline Platinum Setting

When our lovely customer approached us with an idea for a ring to accompany their previously commissioned Extra Texture Sandcast Ring Made From Own 22ct Yellow Gold & Own Diamonds, we couldn't help but get rather excited. Our customer is a gemologist with a rather wonderful eye for the most spectacular ethically sourced and preowned stones and it is always a joy to work with such carefully considered diamonds. Especially in such glorious abundance! 

Our customer had a definite vision for their design - wanting the platinum setting encasing the stones to echo how diamonds form within the earth, often surrounded by crystalline peaks of quartz and the softer, more rounded forms of rough garnets. The setting itself was also to appear as if erupting from the gold and was meticulously designed by Justin in CAD. We love the contrast between the rugged shards of platinum and the precise facets of the brilliant cut diamonds.

Each of the rather dazzling diamonds were also to be set somewhat askew, with the table of the diamonds pointing in different directions, again inspired by their natural formations and designed to cascade downwards from the spectacular 4mm central stone. We love the choice to entirely encrust the band of the ring with the most gorgeous scatter of white, green and brown diamonds, meaning the ring glitters from every angle imaginable and feels truly organic yet sculptural.

The spectacular cluster of gemstones was to be slightly offset, as to not obscure their diamond scatter wedding band. We admit to being rather envious of such a delicious stack of rings! We were all rather sad to see this magnificent ring leave our workshop after working so closely to ensure each detail was designed to perfection, yet always delighted to be able to realise a vision for a dream piece of jewellery.
