9ct Gold Sandcast Kos Pendant Ring with Scatter of Rainbow Sapphires

Made by Jamila, this piece could be worn as a pendant or as a ring. It was very much inspired by the idea of making a versatile two in one piece of jewellery that felt just as sparkly worn either way.

Cast from recycled 9ct yellow gold with a beautiful scatter of rainbow coloured sapphires and rubies in varying sizes.

The name 'Kos' was suggested by one of our lovely followers for one of the prototype iterations of this pendant. Kos is Norwegian for mindfulness and comfort. It felt a fitting choice as the shape and feel of the pendant is reminiscent of skimming stones.

Since naming the original piece, Jamila has visited the Greek island of Kos and collected sand, so this one was cast in sand of its namesake - from Limnionas beach to be exact. During the casting process, grains of sand get captured in the molten metal, imparting a gorgeous organic texture that also means a part of your favourite place can always be carried with you.

This Kos pendant was one of a kind, sold from the Off the Bench Peg, a space in which our jewellers are given total freedom creatively, using reclaimed materials to craft one-off & bespoke pieces.

We always welcome commissions inspired by these unique designs, so do please get in touch if you would like to discuss your own ideas.
