Heirloom 18ct Rose Gold Sandcast Ring with Own Oval Garnet, Rubies & Diamonds

This garnet, ruby & diamond cluster ring was made from our customer's remodelled heirloom jewellery - for details of the possibilities and processes of reworking your own precious metals & gemstones, please see our listing and our journal post.

This spectacular garnet, ruby & diamond ring was rather fittingly commissioned to celebrate a ruby anniversary. Our lovely customer wanted to breathe a new lease of life into the stunning central oval garnet and to also incorporate a number of diamonds and rubies from unworn pieces of heirloom jewellery.

Through a series of emails & appointments at our workshop, we worked closely together to entirely realise a vision for a show stopping ring that honoured a legacy of sentiment. We love the decision to flank the slightly offset central garnet with a sumptuous cluster of rubies and diamonds, held securely in a bespoke claw setting. Finished with a gleaming antique polish, the ring feels both contemporary and timeless - a fitting tribute to a lifetime love story.

We think the completed ring is a testament to the possibilities of reimagining inherited materials and a standalone beautiful piece of jewellery. When reworking your own heirloom pieces we can never guarantee the colour or carat outcome, but always enjoy seeing unique shades of gold emerge from the cast, like this delightfully dappled rose gold. Our journal post, Comparing Precious Metals, details the differences between the colours & carats of precious metals we work with, alongside the finishes we offer.
