Heirloom Gold & Tsavorite Garnet Sandcast Suite of Rings & Stud Earrings

This suite was made from our customer's remodelled heirloom jewellery - for details of the possibilities and processes of reworking your own precious metals & gemstones, please see our listing and our journal post.
Our lovely customer had a collection of these stunning Tsavorite garnets they wished to showcase in a set of matching pieces. There is something uniquely satisfying about a suite of jewellery, unified by materials, technique and texture.
Tsavorite garnets are found exclusively across the eastern coast of Africa, namely Kenya and occasionally Tanzania. Often deeper toned and less occluded than emeralds, Tsavorite garnets are sought after for their inimitable verdant hue. Their colour is entirely natural, with efforts to synthesise the stones so far unsuccessful. Some people believe that Tsavorite garnets have revitalising properties when worn, adding to the mystique of these stunning stones.
We felt that soft and sandy yellow gold would best compliment the lush green of the garnets, and cast the suite from our customer's unworn heirloom jewellery. When reworking your own materials we can never guarantee the colour or carat outcome, but always enjoy seeing more bespoke shades of gold emerge from the cast, like this delightfully buttery 9ct yellow gold.
Our journal post, Comparing Precious Metals, details the differences between the colours & carats of precious metals we work with, alongside the finishes we offer for your jewellery.
