Laburnum & Sapphire Platinum Engraved Wedding Rings with Matching Silver & Laburnum R39 Ring
Our lovely customer held a vision of their ideal wedding ring for 20 years and we were absolutely delighted to be able to bring their ideas to reality in this stunning wedding set. Our customer was set on a cool toned star sapphire, set into a chunky platinum band with a double inlay of Laburnum wood and finished with a sweet hand drawn engraving on the interior of each ring. We worked closely alongside our customer and our gemstone suppliers to ensure all the design elements imagined were fully realised, hoping to entirely perfect such a long awaited and truly considered piece of jewellery, to be loved and worn for a lifetime.
Our customer drew inspiration from our 9ct White Gold & Satine Rubane Double Inlay Wood Ring with Bezel Set Oval Diamond, being particularly drawn towards the double inlay of wood and flat profile of the ring. We also looked towards our 6mm in Palladium with Acacia and Amethyst, with our lovely customer preferring how the termination of the wooden inlay wraps around the shape of the gemstone. We find this especially effective when framing the kite orientated square cut sapphire
We love how all three rings feel kindred as a harmonious wedding set, yet stand alone as gorgeously individual rings due to slight differences in design elements. We love the contrast between the comfort profile of the square cut sapphire ring and the flat profile of the star sapphire ring, appealing to individual preferences while also symbolising unity. Our journal post, How to Design a Ring from Home, contains details and examples of the different ring profiles & shapes to consider when commissioning a ring.
