Organic Diamond Cluster Engagement Ring in Sandcast Heirloom Gold
This gorgeous diamond cluster engagement ring was made from our customer's remodelled heirloom jewellery - for details of the possibilities and processes of reworking your own precious metals & gemstones, please see our listing and our journal post.
During the process of commissioning their engagement ring, our lovely customer drew inspiration from the rugged yet fragile structures of coral reefs. They felt particularly drawn towards the constellation of claw set diamonds in our Carbis Bay - Sandcast Diamond Cluster Ring. The clustered claw setting appealed as a means of incorporating their sparkly heirloom diamonds, while maintaining a naturalistic, handmade quality.
Our customer also loved the generous width of our 7mm Flat Sandcast Ring, which provides an ample canvas for the dappled texture imparted by sandcasting and is comfortable and satisfyingly tactile to wear. The flat profile lends itself beautifully to a purposefully rippled variance through the width of the ring. Our journal post, How to Design or Choose Your Ring from Home, details the key differences between ring profiles.
We worked closely alongside our lovely customer, through a series of video appointments, to entirely realise their vision for their engagement ring - organic, yet sparkly and unique. We chose to offset the bespoke claw setting atop the edge of the band as if growing out of the deliciously rich gold, with the five gorgeous diamonds seeming to float atop the precious metal.
