Pear Cut Salt & Pepper Diamond Ring in Sandcast 14ct White Gold

This beautifully stormy salt and pepper pear cut diamond was the star of this ring commission. During an appointment at our workshop, our lovely customer hand selected the diamond from amidst our collection of ethically sourced gemstones and we worked closely together to realise all the design elements that appealed. Claw setting is often a great choice to showcase pear cut stones, with the fragile 'point' of the stone being protected by precious metal. We think the finished ring makes a really rather dazzling statement.

The steely hues of 14ct white gold were the perfect compliment to the obsidian facets of the salt & pepper diamond, showcasing less warmth than seen in 9ct, yet still being brighter than the deep pewter of 18ct. We love how the grains of sand captured during the sandcasting process mirrors the complexity of the diamond. A matte finish allows the diamond to shine spectacularly in contrast. We have compiled a journal post containing a detailed overview of the differences between the colours & carats of precious metal we work with that you can explore here - Comparing Precious Metals.
