Fire Opal Sea Treasure Ring in Sandcast 9ct Yellow Gold with Brown and White Diamonds

During a visit to our workshop, our lovely customer felt deeply inspired by our Diamond Sea Treasure Ring, designed by Chloe for our Off the Bench Peg collection of bespoke and experimental pieces. They felt drawn towards the undulating fluidity of the band and how the trio of bezel settings wrapped around the glittery mix of of rose & old cut diamonds.

Our customer had a collection of heirloom jewellery they wished to reimagine into rings more befitting their individual preferences, while still honouring the sentimentality of their materials. This incredibly vivid fire opal was central to our customer's vision of their ring and we were delighted to give such a glorious gemstone a new lease of life.

A bezel setting is a wonderful choice for opals - both protecting and showcasing the gorgeous yet notoriously soft gemstones. For a multitude of examples of this versatile style of setting, explore our Bezel Set Gemstone Commissions.

Our customer opted for white gold bezels to contrast with the yellow gold of the band and we think the medley of tones across the ring feels eclectic yet entirely considered and harmonious. Our journal post, Comparing Precious Metals, contains detailed information and examples of the different colours & carats of gold that we work with.

We are always honoured to be entrusted with a dream for reworking heritage precious metals and gemstones, and delighted to create pieces to be worn and loved anew.
