Chris and Rebecca's Wood Engagement Ring Story

The picture shows a wood inlay engagement ring being put on a ring finger
"We knew we wanted a ring maker who made unique wooden rings. After a small search we found one local to Cornwall where we both live. It's actually down the road from the school Chris used to work at.
When we visited, our heart was set on getting Justin Duance to make Rebecca's engagement ring. The build quality, personal and friendly nature of the company and attention to sustainability was important for us both.
Rebecca doesn't really wear jewellery and a ring with a stone didn't really appeal as there wouldn't be much meaning. We wanted to have wood inlaid from the place we first met, on a boat called Morning Star. We both volunteer for the Morning Star Trust where a large part of our story is set. Morning Star Trust is a charity that takes young people out to sea and teaches them sailing, through that building resilience and adventurous spirit.

The wood we had inlaid in the ring is from the boat we originally met on, and which holds a big significance to our own story of friendship and commitment.

The ring turned out incredibly well. I love how it changes colour as it catches the light at different angles.
Rebecca wears it all the time, except when we go sailing. I would hate to lose something so precious into the sea!"
For their wood engagement ring, Chris and Rebecca chose an R55 5mm in titanium inlaid with wood from the boat they first met on. If their story has inspired you to have a piece of jewellery made with your own wood, do get in touch. Alternatively, choose a wood from our vast wood collection here.
